Attack of the boomers
If I had to pick a generation that did the most harm to the human race it has to be mine, the baby boomer generation. I was born in 1953 right smack dab in the middle of it. Most but not all of us are self centered, selfish, try to avoid responsibility and superficial and largely sniveling bullies. That should give a good idea of how we boombers could mess up a one car funeral let alone what we did to society.
We are also arrogant cusses. Growing up the line of choice we had was “I don’t need to go to confession, I’ll just confess them directly to God”. Nice one ace but isn’t that a bit cowardly? How do you determine if God heard you or even what you should do to repent for your sins (its called Penance). We gave birth to the hippies figuratively and literally. These aging hippies went on to screw up politics and our own Catholic church. The boomer generation is defined as anyone born between 1946 and 1964.
I’ve mentioned before that for every 100 people who enter the Catholic faith 800 leave. Here are some of the reasons for the 800 departures. Catholic Boomers

Thru the list above you can see why we are in the mess we are. You can thank a Boomer. Jorge Bergoglio oddly is in a generation they call the silent generation. Frank is anything but silent and its usually some kind of anti traditionalist raving.
There is good news for the future. For one we are steadily dieing off and there are two other generations that seem to have their heads screwed on straight generation X 1965 – 1980 and Generation Y 1981 – 1996. Hopefully they can undo the damage my generation of boomers did. Prominent member include:

I wish I could see a silver lining for the Catholic church but as far as leadership goes the cupboard is more than bare. However the only bright spot are the new seminarians applying to traditional Latin mass seminaries. Many have to turn away recruits because of space limitations. Whatever donations you give I would (an do) give it to these seminaries and definitely NOT your local diocese or anything involved with them.
