A.I. describes slush fund as – A slush fund is money set aside for dishonest or illegal purposes, especially to help in politics or business. It’s often kept hidden or separate so the source of the money or what it’s used for can be concealed.
The slush fund in question here is the annual Peters Pence collection. No doubt once it did serve a purpose in helping poor parishes survive but with the election of the “dictator pope Francis” it took on a new turn.
In the 2016 presidential it is generally believed that Vatican used funds syphoned off the Peters Pence collection for the Hillary Clinton for president campaign. According to the book the dictator pope by Marcantono Colonna;
“………..In 2016 Pope Francis staked all his chips on the Clinton presidency. Those around him,beginning with Cardinal Parolin told him that Donald Trump had no hope of winning, and on Francis’s orders the Admintration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See helped finance Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. (It is now being said that the money used for it came from Peter’s Pence, the donations of the faithful made supposedly for charitable purposes)
The Peter’s pence collection has also become the “Social Security” of the Vatican. Budget falls short with over spending? Just take the money from Peter’s pence! Since the 1980s Money from Peters pence has been thrown around like a bunch of drunken sailors out on the town.
Lapanto institute sites more abuses:
On December 7, 2019, Catholic News Agency reported that Peter’s Pence funds were tied up in an international money laundering scheme.
At the beginning of July, 2024, The Pillar Catholic reported that the vast majority of funds being collected for Peter’s Pence are going to Vatican operations, rather than to the charitable causes they advertise.
In 2022, 16.2 million went to charitable projects, versus 77.6 million euros which went to funding Vatican departments.
October of 2019 Crux reported that $200 million from Peter’s Pence funds had been used for the “purchase of a swanky 183,000-square-foot apartment building in the Chelsea district of London.”
On December 6, 2019, National Catholic Register reported that $1 million from Peter’s Pence had been used to invest in the sexually-graphic, homosexual biopic of Elton John, Rocketman. Another $3.6 million from Peter’s Pence was invested in the science fiction film, Men in Black: International.
The basic question is now why on earth do people continue to contribute to Peters Pence? One answer might be they don’t know. They are still wearing their pre 1962 blinders where we actually had good popes and religious that you could trust so there was no need to research. Not today unfortunately. Catholics need to wake up and see when you contribute to the Peter’s pence fund you are contributing to the destruction of the Catholic faith.
