I just read a piece on line where the SSPX are getting hundreds of requests for priest in TLM chapels they are trying to establish. Problem is the SSPX would love to but they are stretched almost beyond the limits now. The chapel I attend only has a priest on the weekends who comes in from the retreat center in Winona. Wonderful priest and I am glad to have him. However the poor man works his butt off. His duties at the retreat center then Saturday in Mukwongo chapel of St. Pius V hearing confessions then reading mass and Sunday two masses with confessions before both. Fortunately he is a young man and has the energy however I can imagine the stress.
I have been watching with great delight the progress being made at the St. Francis of Assisi mission chapel and Franciscan hermitage in East Tenneesee. You can see their uplifting video here. They had petitioned the SSPX for a priest and the society told them they would love to help but had not the man power to spare a priest at the current time. However if they could find a priest willing to associate with the SSPX they would support them best they could. This means mainly a bishop for their confirmations and other aids the society can give them without having to further tax their man power. They were fortunate to find Fr. David Mary Engo a Franciscan priest. His “conversion” video can be seen here.
Bottom line in all of this is Rome has failed us and a much needed church militant is rising to the occassion to bring the Vatican back, although kicking and screaming, to her original roots. With the last two popes we are not only dealing with children but spoiled little brats to boot. Rank and file Catholics, even those who don’t usually attend a TLM are waking up. My friend Victor attended mass at one of the parishes in East Tennessee and called me after his mass there on Sunday. He said him and his wife are finished there and he told the priest. They had enough, they would no longer be attending there. So Vic got on my tridentinecatholic site and made a very sizable contribution to Father Engo and his St. Francis chapel and hermitage fund. Victors reason was they were told at their mass they could not long longer say the St. Michael prayer or the rosary in church. To make it all better they gave them all cards with the St. Michael prayer printed telling they they could recite it on their way home. You see, they are not only going after us, the TLM, they are now attacking any Catholic who still believes in the old faith, something that is not in the Prevost play book.
The only laborers at this point we don’t see are the Summorum Pontificum (former ecclesia dei) groups who are still playing it safe with their heads buried in the sand hoping this would all go away. Its like the old poem in the 1930s, “Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me”. That is it in a nut shell, and make no mistake ICKSP or FSSP they WILL come for you next. When you are in bed with Rome you better not snore too loud. And your pursuit of the traditional church just does not fit their program.
What is worse is seeing these groups openly condemning the SSPX. The only difference between the SSPX and Summorum Pontificum are the SSPX and the SP is the SSPX realizes there is a huge problem in the church and are taking steps to hault the rot while the SP prefers to ignore it hoping it will go away. Whats worse is the SP gang openly condemning the SSPX. In Rockford last July my ICKSP rector had just come back from Florence attending the institutes ordinations with a group from the oratory. He told us from the pulpit, “We had 4 new priests ordained by Cardinal Burke and then the sorrowful events in Encone, any one who relished in the consecrations should be ashamed and are guilty of sin”. Like Victor that was enough for me, the following Sunday I was in Wisconsin registering at the SSPX chapel of St. Pius V where I intend to spend the rest of my life at. Like Victor, I had enough!
Burke was probably the problem here. My old canon is a very young and naive priest, I good man I think, but will take time seasoning. I am sure he drank the Burke anti SSPX koolaid. We are now learning that at that secret dinner Burke called for all his conservative cardinal was a deal to set up, “If we vote for Prevost in the conclave, he will restore at least part of our TLMs.” As in everything Leo lied. Burke said mass that first Christ the King feast in the Sistine chapel. To this Michael Matt and all the rest of the Trad inc. crew danced in the streets singing we are so back. We saw what happened this year. Armed Swiss guards blocked the entrance for the TLM faithful making the pilgrimage for the feast of Christ the kin. Apparent Burke’s head is as thick as the rest of him in trusting the Prevost. They applied for use of the chapel months in advance being told there was a conflict in the schedule and some of Leo’s gay blade buds had the chapel reserved. The SSPX hear these same crickets asking to ordain new bishops for the last two years. Again all part of the Leo plan, just ignore them and when they do what is necessary, they we excommunicate them. The smoke of Satan has indeed entered the sanctuary!
We all know the original purpose of the original FSSP was to draw people away from the SSPX. Many FSSP chapels were opened with in walking distance of a SSPX chapel. The FSSP was founded by 5 priests from the SSPX after the first consecrations. But that was 1988 when there was still some semblance of Catholicism in the church. Today what ever post Vatican II Catholicism left is going fast. Different times, and now we got the internet to discover what is really going on in the Church. Why do you think the Vatican is condemning AI all the time. They prefer to keep us as stupid as they can. Also notice the two priests being silenced are exorcists, Fr. Ripperger the most famous. I guess when your in bed with the devil you have to try to take the pressure off him as much as they can.
Think of the possibilities if the SP became SSPX affiliates. The hundreds of faithful waiting for priests would be taken care of. I know the ICKSP only owns 3 pieces of property and have to work “deals” to get the use of churches. They would not have to worry, they would have new chapels to work out of. With a force like this we just might be able to drag Rome back to Catholic reality because, all they worship at this point is money. Remove Catholics from diocesan facilitates you remove a large chunk of their cash. One way Leo might figure to crush these priests is to simply tell Novus Ordo bishops they are forbidden to ordain any priests that are trained to do a Latin mass. Cupich has already done that with the Canons of St. John Cantius, young seminarians to read the Tridentine mass. SSPX affiliation would assure bishops to ordain young priests.
For Pete sake you guys wake up! They will be coming for you next. They used to say getting conservatives to work together is like trying to herd a roomful of feral cats. The same can be said of the TLM, Leo is not much of a priest, but Robert Prevost is a skilled Chicago Democrat politician. He know how to use the old communist strategy of divide and conquor.
