About 3 weeks ago I wrote an article about leaving my ICKSP oratory and heading across the boarder to my new SSPX chapel in Wisconsin. The article for the most part was received favorably, I would say to the tune of 98%. However as in life you can never please everyone. Some of the comments were cerebral like the man who stated, “Your an idiot”. Others were similar to a broken record with the same sound bite repeated over and over and over again. All I can say is I’ll worry about my soul and you all worry about yours because in todays mixed up Catholic church its all we can do.
The SSPX episcopal consecrations seemed to have broken up the log jam. The only ones creating the schism seem to be the Vatican. While the SSPX sticks to Catholic Dogma and doctrine as illustrated thru the use of the traditional mass the Leo church drifts farther from the truth. The haters just don’t get it and that includes the laity and clergy alike. Its not the Latin! Its what is represented by the Latin.
For example in the Latin mass or the Tridentine, every action has meaning. When the priest walks up 3 steps to the high altar that represents the holy men of the old testament going up the mountain to talk to God. There are 3 sets of linen on the high altar which represents the burial shroud of Christ. At the consecration the altar boys hold the chasuble of the priest which represents the women with the bleeding disease, “If only I could touch but the tassel of his coat I shall be healed”. Even the traditional churches were constructed with the altar facing East. This was to watch for the return of Jesus Christ.
The Vatican 2 mass of Paul VI deep six’d all this. The mass was designed by an alleged by free mason priest by the name of Bugninni with the help of 6 protestant ministers. This was done to make the mass, OUR mass more acceptable to protestants. Its not about the sacrifice of Calvary anymore its all about a commemoration of the last supper. A focus on the congregation, most Novus Ordo churches look a lot like the inside of an empty refrigerator for a reason. They are devoid of statues and some even a tabernacle. It all has a purpose. To keep people focused on each other because the model of the new mass is St. Matthew, “Where ever 2 or more of you are gathered in my name, I am there”. Makes you realize how confused bishop Paproki is when he called the SSPX another protestant cult. Well your excellency, who is the one reading the mass created by protestants? Humm?
That brings us to the episcopal consecrations in Encone. To be honest I was a bit worried with the SSPX in their relations with Francis but now those worries are gone. The main turning point for me was the newly consecrated bishop Goldade’s first statement, “Modernism is like an acid that destroys all it touches”. He gets it! Its not just the Latin but what the Latin represents. The true church. Since the bishop was in charge of the seminary in Virginia you can bet his philosophy is instilled in these seminarians.
With the consecrations came threats and accusations against the society. Most were empty, as most Canon Lawyers will tell you, no layman is excommunicated and the sacraments are indeed valid. The goal is to destroy the SSPX or all credibility. The Synodal church of Leo can not exist with the SSPX standing in the way. Leo now moves to stage 2, use the ecclesia dei groups to draw away the faithful for the society which would hopefully for them suck out their life blood. Problem for Leo its not working. I am seeing more people heading for the SSPX chapels and leaving their E.D. groups.
Don’t be so smug Ecclesia Dei groups. You are being used. In slang terms you are all patsy’s. Like a cat playing with a mouse. Leo will lead you on until he gets what he wants and will then lower the boom. At this point Leo using his mouth piece Cardinal Roche, has pretty much stated the TLM or the traditional mass does not work in the new blueprint of the Catholic church of syodilty. So eventually you will all be broken up.
I am sure the first move will be to forbid any Novus Ordo bishop from ordaining new priests. This will kill the roots. Then I am sure more restrictions will be put on the Ecclesia Dei until they reach a breaking point. Either forced reading of the Novus Ordo in the vernacular or a total removal of the Tridentine mass to be replaced with a “Reverent Novus Ordo” in Latin. You know the church of England has very reverent service with ornate vestments but its not a Catholic mass. This will separate the people who want pomp and ceremony from the people who want substance. I suspect many, but not all the priests and religious will either migrate to the SSPX, or go independent or even sede. The bottom line is they will be gone. The only remains of the Catholic church will now rest in the hands of the SSPX.
As Catholics we are all facing tough decisions. I made mine. I will add that most of my decisions came in the middle of my daily morning rosary most times out of nowhere. I pray all of you, even the popeslaiers will come to grips with this current reality and choose wisely. You all worry about your souls, I will worry about mine, we will see who is right at the end of time.
