Records show 1 in 4 women in the united states experience some form of spousal abuse. In today’s world that number is guaranteed to rise. I blame porn for a large part of it. It portrays the wife as a piece of merchandise to do the husbands perverted bidding. Compound this to the ever falling attendance at church and we see the problem growing. But chivalry still breaths. At least for a little while.
My parents were members of what is called the greatest generation. They began with a world wide depression where my dad used to say you could not beg, borrow, or steal a job. Then a world war, global conflicts, the cold war, and men walking on the moon. The family unit was alive and well and church attendance was zooming. Literally a time when men were men.
Case in point my father, a little rough around the collar at times, but knew the meaning of chivalry. One day my parents went to the wake of one of my aunts. The husband was pretty hen pecked with some mental problems inherited from his participation in the battle of the bulge in WW2. They had one child, a spoiled brat. Polish wakes are not as festive as your Irish wake but non the less it was a time to meet extended family and catch up. One of my uncles was showing family pictures to my mother. Seeing this my cousin, the spoiled brat, knocked the pictures out of her hands and chastised her for looking at pictures at his mothers wake. As if my aunt was going to get up and walk out of the casket and leave.
Seeing this my dad went over, picked my cousin up by his collar, slammed him against the wall and told him don’t you ever insult my wife like that again. He then collected my mother and went home. Not too much of that kind of love and respect for ones spouse around these days. Today many husbands would just sheepishly step out of the picture and not get involved.
Another abused victim people ignore is the bride of Christ, the Catholic church, not this thing Leo is peddling. For years she stood by her husband in the Vatican faithfully faithfully carrying on her duties as faithful wife and mother to the children of faith. Then something happened in the late 1940s. The spouse, Rome, became an abuser. Caught up with the porn of the world Rome demands perversion. SLAP…..You must give up or Latin mass, SLAP…….You must accept homosexual relations, SLAP…… You must deny the roll of our Lady as Mediatrix, And the abuses continued, however she still remains loyal to her children providing for them best she can in the face of this abuse. While Rome is off to their sexual and perverse orgies the church remains faithful and will not leave. Eventually some day I hope Leo and his line of perversity is picked up by his shirt collar, slammed against a wall and shouted at, DON’T YOU EVER INSULT YOUR WIFE LIKE THAT AGAIN!
