Living in the Midwest I am supposed to hate New York City, and I used to, but for the past year I feel a little sorry for them. Islamic terrorists could not bring the city to its knees with the 911 attack so they went to plan B elect an Ali Akbar Communist from within and he won. New York is now unofficially under Islamic rule. Chicago area is the same way, why these people vote for this trash its beyond me. Even Illinois where Governor J.B. Lardass has just succeeded in driving even the Chicago Bears out of the state still has a 59% approval rate.
The biggest export in Illinois happens to be human garbage, Barack Obama, Bobby Prevost, and now the walking Hickey. I saw Bubbles Hickey dancing around on the news about his appointment to New York. I swear the man is white Steve Urkel. Golly gee kids now I can eat thin pizza and watch the New York mets, or maybe the Yankees. He just can not decide which baseball team is politically correct. The only thing that shocked me was he claimed to be a cubs fan. Odd as most of the real morons seem to hang out at Comisky park. Barak Obama threw out the first pitch there dressed in his official mom jeans while Bobby Prevost struts around the Vatican in his new sox cap. The common thread in the Prevost dynasty or make it the Bergoglian dynasty revolve around pizza and baseball. Somehow Catholicism never seems to enter the picture. Cheese head laughing boy Dolan was bad enough but did the Bergoglian line have to rub it in with a Hickey.
What ever happened to the days when real men entered the priesthood. As a kid in the 60s our Pastor, Fr. Spring loved the occasional cigar and a martini, one of his assistants was on the parish bowling league. The days when men were men. At least today most match the effeminate goal of the leadership of the church.
I do know a little bit about Hicks. Like most TLM Catholics my Sunday is usually spent on long drives trying to find a TLM. For a few years I had attended St. Marys Parish in West Chicago. The pastor was Fr. John Balluff, a huge supporter of the Latin mass and a good priest. He had a weekly Sunday TLM stemming from Benedict’s Summorum Pontificum. As pastor he made sure any assistant assigned to him went to the canons of St. John Cantius for a crash course in the Tridentine Low Mass. As a result the Latin mass began to grown on the diocesan level. Priests began to read the Latin mass at various locations sporadically. I went to Latin mass and Latin distribution of ashes one Ash Wednesday at St. John the Baptist church in Winfield. This was all under the previous bishop, Robert Daniel Conlon.
Then in 2020 on Conlon’s retirement Bubbles Hicks came into the diocese. First thing he did was to forbid all priest in the diocese from reading the traditional mass. From what I am told this broke the hearts of many priests. St. Marys still has its Latin mass, I have no clue how they managed to keep it but I assume that will become a thing of the past in the near future given that someone in the mold of a Bishop Martin will wind up there. I have no idea of how Hicks got the reputation of being a Latin mass supporter when the truth is he tolerates it but thats the extent. The FSSP operates two locations so yes Joliet still does have Latin masses a fact I am sure Trad inc. will exploit to back up Hicks.
Last I saw of Fr. Balluff was he is pastor of St. Isadore. They have no Latin mass so I am sure he wound up in Bubbles dog house the last few years.
Good bye New York, or good bye New York Catholicism, it was nice knowing ya! In tribute then
I need a brown ale and a cigar now!
