Today I ask the musical question, “What on earth has gotten into the Institute of Christ King Sovereign priest, and what are they up to?”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For about a year before I left the Institute of Christ king I was starting to have doubts. The rector before the current one in Rockford before my eyes seemed to shift positions. The Institute has always had great sermons based on traditional teachings of the church. To my knowledge that has not changed but the political makeup if you want to call it that made a definite shift. One of his first sermons came before the 2024 primary elections. From the pulpit canon said, “in the United States we have two political parties, one is not exactly the party of Jesus Christ but the other one is pure Satanic evil and who ever votes for any of it is guilty of grave sin”. He then went on to talk about all of Donald Trumps pro life accomplishments. He also once commented he would never stop reading the traditional Latin mass going on to say if necessary he would read the mass in peoples living rooms if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At that point I said Bravo! That is the church I want, that is the one I want to be in. Then as time went on things took a strange turn. Sermons like the one I mentioned earlier became fewer and fewer. He was constantly running off to meetings with Bishop Malloy of the diocese. For those of you who don’t know Malloy the priests he removed from the diocese started the core of the cancelled priest organization we have today. The canon rector commented that the bishop likes the Latin mass, I think more of the case is that he tolerates it that is about it. We were also told that anyone wishing to have their child make a first communion or confirmation in the old rite could not just come over they had to be registered with the oratory. First signs to me from the diocese on an attack on tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite all this uncertainty about the future of the Latin mass the canon sunk about 2 million dollars in the rennovation of the sacristy. Beyond doubt is it beautiful, but why on earth would anyone spend that much money on property the institute does not even own, essentially only rent and could be kicked out at any minute unless of course you had some kind of assurance from the diocese, or if some kind of deal was made behind the scenes. The diocese seminary for the Novus Ordo priests was starting to get heavily pushed from the oratory. True I am a tin foil hate type of person but this all seemed very suspicious. Low Sunday began to called Low Sunday\/Divine Mercy Sunday. The stench of the Novus Ordo had begun to enter the santuary! The day after the conclave we were education on the greatness of Robert Prevost as pope. When I shook my head in disagreement, especially when canon said, “CARDINAL BURKE said he will make a wonderfull pope”, I was chastised from canon in the pulpit for my bad attitude on not hopping on the Leo bandwagon with the rest of Trad inc. We will touch on Cardinal Burke latter. I have to emphasize here I love their canons, the rank and file priests. They are all good men, spiritual and devoted to the church. Its their leadership I have questions about, the political part of the Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n

Exit the old canon and in comes the new. I thought he was a good priest as all Institute priests, his rubrics were impeccable. His sermons are on solid doctrine. Kind of heavy emphasis on sin but it is what it is. The seemingly move towards Vatican II indoctrination had continued. Low Sunday\/Divine Mercy Sunday had some added embellishments. After the high mass there was a recitation of the chaplet of divine mercy. A devotion condemned by two popes, Pius XII and John XXIII. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I noticed the Institute chapels allowed for a novus ordo mass in English to be read at some of the institute locations. I later learned that the English mass was not read by any of the canons, rather a Novus Ordo priest, and it was mainly a bargaining chip to allow the Latin mass in those locations. I understand you do what you need to do but this is like mixing water and oil or sleeping with the enemy for that matter. For about a year I stopped my donations to the institute except for the twice yearly donations to their seminary in Florence and the nuns the institute has. Aside from that I did not want any of my cash flowing into the local diocese. Then for me the coup de gr\u00e2ce.<\/p>\n\n\n

Then for me the coup de gr\u00e2ce. The Sunday after the Episcopal consecrations in Encone (that I stayed up all that night to watch and I might say got goose bumps) Canon talked about the Institutes ordinations in Florence the same day priestly ordinations were going on in Encone. Canon was there with a group of pilgrims form the oratory. He talked about their newly ordained priests and then said, “And then the sad events in Encone”. He said “anyone relishing in the consecrations should be ashamed and are guilty of sin”. That was it for me, the following Sunday I was at St. Pius V chapel in Mukwanago Wi and plan to stay there permanently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now my conspiracy theory. Everytime I turn around it seems the ICKSP is being militarized for use against the SSPX. First a priest from Sheybogan came out with this gem below.<\/p>\n\n\n

Fr. Fliss, or Fr. Paul as he likes to go by is pastor of 3 combined parishes. This is standard operating procedure for the Novus ordo, people leave, no priests enter the seminaries so they close and or condense parishes. When they sell the property its usually never to a Catholic group, always sold for a new Mosque or restaurant, never ever sell to the SSPX. In this case he is in charge of 3 churches, St. Peter Claver, St. Cyril & Methodius paris and Immaculate Conception Parish. St. Cyril & Methodius is where the Institute offers the Latin mass. Notice how Fr. Pauls calls the mass at St. Cyril an accommodation for those of us who have not grown deep in the faith and refers us to attend mass at the ICKSP as a temporary stop gap method. I guess there must be some truth that God loves little children and village idiots. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My SSPX chapel in Mukawango was the old St. James parish church of which the diocese built a bran new warehouse type church building. St. Pius V was purchased by a group of the faithful in the 1980’s for private use so the true mass could continue. We are also growing. At St. James this is what they say about us<\/a> only in this case they refer people to the Institutes retreat center in Burlington Wisconsin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has the institute been up too? Why are they getting all these references to their locations from the local diocese’s and no reference to the FSSP? Has some sort of deal been cut. When my former canon sang the praise of Leo it was an implied compromise pope. After a year from Leo there is no compromise just enslavement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now enters Cardinal Raymond Burke the flim flam man. He is thick with the ICKSP and very influential. He ordained the new priests in Florence this year. The ordination the current canon attended. Could Burke have planted in his head all the anti SSPX rhetoric? A strong possibility I think. When will these guys wise up? They have no friends in Rome they are just being used by political powers in Rome of which Burke is one. People will do all kinds of things for free rent on an apartment. Burke who now embraces Vatican II by the way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Novus Ordo can hold the use of their bishops over the ecclesia dei groups. Already at St. John Cantius I have been told new priests will not longer be allowed to read the Latin mass. It would be a simple matter of not allowing Novus Ordo bishops to ordain the Institute priests or FSSP priests, unless of course concessions to Vatican II are made. Do you get the picture now why the SSPX had to do the consecrations? There was no choice if the traditional church was to continue. More bishops, more priests, meaning more first communions and confirmations. It had to be done for survival. Unlike the Ecclesia Dei these bishops are not a bargaining chip. The Vatican knows that and that was their game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Harry Carey the old Chicago Cubs announcer used to say when the enemy had the bases loaded with one out, “Be careful here mon cheri”, a good word of advice to the institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
