All of a sudden the sacrament of confession is poof………….gone, and replaced by the sacrament of discussion. This latest scam are listening centers that will be set up at the youth prayer vigil. No confessionals please as no one sins, just ask Fr. James Martin or Bishop Barron. Hell? Whats that? Of course the diocese says its not replacing confession its just complimentary to the sacrament of confession. Ya right, tell me another one. Once again our Trad champion Chris Jackson lays out another great article. The following is an excerpt that sums up the problem.

During Leo XIV’s upcoming trip to Spain, confessionals reportedly will not be set up at the youth prayer vigil or at other major events. Instead, organizers plan to provide “listening centers,” staffed by trained lay pastoral workers described as “listening agents.” The Archdiocese of Madrid insists these spaces are not meant to replace confession, since Madrid has hundreds of parishes where sacramental confession is available. The point, we are told, is complementarity. A sacrament over there, a conversation over here. Nothing to see. Please keep walking.

The question any practicing Catholic would have to ask is “why”. What is wrong with sacramental grace and how come its not available except at the parishes? We all know how hard it is to attend confession at your local parishes. Its usually the first thing cancelled to accommodate any parish event or Father’s hobby. “Confession will be cancelled Saturday so Father Stash can attend the sock darning convention.”

The new extraordinary minister of discussion and assorted mixed drinks.

Lets just make it a standard, call it the sacrament of discussion. No penance, just suggestions. Instead of bless me father for I have sinned lets just say, hey father lets have a chin wag. Oh wait, this is yet another attempt to remove the priesthood. So yet another job for the extraordinary minister of something. You can never have enough of those in the new church. Its also a great way to introduce women into the priesthood. Now your typical baby boomer granny extraordinary minister of the Eucharist can now be the extraordinary minister of the sacrament of discussion. You can get bartenders to train them. Best counselors in the world are bar tenders. They will listen to all your problems and at the end will tell you the perfect recipe for a Tom Collins. That’s a good idea as well, maybe we should introduce refreshments in the “discussional” as well. Catholicsm on tap….hmmm I seriously doubt that.

For some reason since Vatican II the church finds it necessary to plug into head shrinks, aka, psychologists. Next to attorneys one of the most useless professions. About half the novus ordo priests I have gone to confession are not really into the spiritual but they love to play amateur psychologist. They will bog you down with all kinds of self help tips, then run out of time and tell you to say your act of contrition outside. Talk about getting it wrong. We are not talking about social malfunction here we are talking about betraying God. Somehow I think we need a little more than one Our Father to remedy this and its not Dr. Phil.

One thing about laughable Leo he is consistent. This thing he is trying to pass off as the Catholic faith is worthy of the twilight zone. One thing for sure. I hope and pray the SSPX goes thru with the consecrations. After they do I will pull out my discover card and make a nice fat donation to the society. They are the last men standing for the true faith and if Leo excommunicates them he excommunicates me as well. To be honest I am looking foreword to it. After all how can a heretic excommunicate anyone? Hmm I may just ask my bartender that one, oh, and put a head on this too will ya?

The one thing about pope leftie Leo, he is great for comic relief.
