Napoleon and the French Revolution

This song actually has special meaning. Back in 1974 I was taking a history class, Napoleon and the French revolution at Benedictine college. Sister Juanita was the professor, a very smart women but her teaching skills…………well……………..

However, Sister Juanita Pavlic was one of the Vatican II nuns at Mt. St Scholastica convent. No Habit just a little grey cloth on her head as kind of a head veil. She had a thing about India and enjoyed wearing a Sari in class on occasion. She was a very intelligent women getting her masters at St. Louis University studying under  von Schuschnigg the last Chancelor of Austria before Hitler annexed the country. What great classes those must of been. Also at B.C. a classmate Tom Link was there because his dad was teaching Tank Tactics to the soldiers at Ft. Levenworth. His dad was a tank commander under Rommel in North Africa. LOL now how many blue haired kids today would have a clue what I am talking about?

Class was in the ad building on the North campus and I used to ride there with Phil “Pop” (Poplaski) there and back to south campus where we lived. She would drive us nuts so we invented an excuse that we needed snake bite medicine on the way back so we stopped in downtown Atchison Kansas and hit the college hangout, the wharf on the orpheum arcade for a couple beers and a couple rounds of pool.

The wharf used to be a movie theater that they divided into 3 spaces and dropped down the ceiling. They had remodeled the bar once and you could see above the ceiling was the original movie theater. Really cool. When we got inside Abba and Waterloo was always playing on the jukebox. Our rally song! Pop had a 1965 red mustang with white vinyl interior. Great car, great times.
